O 'forum romanum' e a formação social do 'vir bonus': o caso de Caio Otávio (I a.C.)

Resumo

O estudo do forum apresenta múltiplas leituras no que tange aos seus significados para os romanos. Afinal, determinados lugares podem ser utilizados ao longo da história para justificar processos de legitimação do poder, de construção de identidades, assim como de segregação ou de integração entre sujeitos no interior de um segmento ou em um ambiente externo a ele. A perspectiva aqui apresentada consiste em analisar o forum como um lugar antropológico no processo de construção do jovem aristocrata (masculino) em Roma, como Caio Otávio, para que esse sujeito pudesse tornar-se o vir bonus (bom cidadão) por excelência.
