Ascetismo, martírio e glória: a devoção a Maria nos relatos alexandrinos e origenistas (séculos III-IV)

No presente artigo, pretendemos demonstrar de que maneira a veneração a mártires e virgens impulsionará a piedade mariana na região de Alexandria entre os séculos III e IV. Para tanto, enfocaremos as histórias de algumas virgens-mártires, tais como Potamiena, Apolônia, Tecla e Justina, bem como a apropriação de alguns desses relatos por autores alexandrinos e origenistas, o que possibilitará que a devoção a Maria seja resignificada e legitimada nos círculos eclesiásticos.Downloads
